When I first set up this blog I had no inkling that I might want to monetize (aff) it one day. That's why I set it up as a subdomain. I didn't think it would ever really matter.

Fast forward to today. Now that I've decided to try to make a little side cash by monetizing my websites I can see that having this blog on a subdomain was a very bad move. I should have purchased my own domain name for it in the very beginning.

Oh, well, that's water over the dam now and nothing I can do but pick up and move forward. I purchased a domain and set up another blog there. *crying* Now I have to move from a PR2 blog (not great but at least it is ranked) to a PR0 blog. Dang.

This is a personal blog. There really isn't any rhyme or reason for it except to have a home base of my own and not be at the mercy of the site administrators at some of the hosted communities I frequent.

Any and all comments by real people are welcome! However, due to recent spam bot abuse new comments go into an approval queue before being posted. Fie on you spam bots! Fie fie fie!

Well, if this blog is good for nothing else it is at least a good place for me to RANT!

I couldn't even log into my OWN blog with IE until I cleared my cookies and history. #$%^&%$# Internet Explorer is a pain in the butt!

I did download IE7 this morning and must say, I like the look of it a lot better than the old look. I already have Firefox set up with the extensions I like though and I'm not into configuring IE to match. Plus, I'm still scared of all the holes in IE - too much bad press I guess.

Two of my favorite Firefox extensions are Smiley Xtra and RiteOfTongue.

With Smiley Xtra you can insert smilies from an online database into forum posts, blogs and more! I post to several forums and I have a lot of fun with it.

RiteOfTongue allows you to right-click on typed text to check your spelling. It comes in very handy for those puzzling moments when a word just "doesn't look right" but you're not sure if you spelled it correctly. Gotta love it!

I've built a lot of little websites over the years. Unfortunately I usually abandon them after I get them completed since to me, the building of them is the most fun part.

Things are changing for me now. I've decided this blog is going to be my final stop! Okay, maybe it won't be the last site I ever build but I plan to make it the central hub and home for my personal ramblings. Everybody needs a home, right? *smile*

I'm going through my old blog and transferring some of the posts to this one. The only problem is that I can change the dates of my posts but I can't change the date of the comments. But I'll just have to deal with that because I'm not leaving my comments behind!
